IMBA was in town

I know most of the readers of this blog are family who couldn't care less about my cycling escapades and just want cute little pictures of my kids. I say to you, I promise the next post will be about them and will include cute pictures. This one is yet another cycling post. My cycling club, LAMBA, had the distinct pleasure of hosting a land manager's meeting (organized and led by the dedicated and soon to be famous trail builder Ken Barker) and a social event with the IMBA Trail Care Crew . The crew is a couple that travels around the country with the goal of helping clubs like ours improve our trails, our relationships with local land managers, and our own internal workings. It was great to have them here. I was very sorry to have missed the festivities on the eve of my parents 40th wedding anniversary party, but as most of you know, mountain biking is more than a hobby to me. Being part of the IMBA visit was a rewarding experience. I got to lead a ride with the crew along with many of my great riding friends. I got to mingle with those same great friends while discussing the triumphs and challenges facing LAMBA and Beverly Park. And what I learned was, what we're doing and the challenges we face are the same everywhere.

The above pic was taken by one of the IMBA trail care crew of us riding at our beloved Beverly Park. I never realized how stupid my helmet looks with the headlight mount attached to it. Oh well, I'll trade convenience for appearance any day.
