Stacey hung out in Des Moines all weekend with the kids and Gramma S. while I went on a drunken tirade with my brother in Ames. The girls went with Stacey, Gramma, Brian, Jen, and Annabelle to the park on Saturday and seem to have had a good time.
The kids are in a stage where they aren't sure if they like me right now. It's all good with me most of the time since I know it's just a natural phase. I'm finding ways around it without giving in to things I know I shouldn't (cookies, toys, etc.).
On a positive note, the girls are in another new daycare. The last one just wasn't working out. It was too far away from home and I really didn't like the care they were getting. The new one seems to be working out great. The girls seem happier and they actually want to go there. Potty training is in full speed ahead mode with Ellen. I vaguely remember this time with Mara. Preparing for accidents and confusion but really, really looking forward to not having to deal with diapers anymore.
