St. Patty's Day blues
My favorite day of the year came and went. No 9am Bloody Mary's, no debauchery, no green hats, whiskey shots, or gratuitous nekkidness. Nope, we stayed home with the kids. It was rewarding in its own right as staying home with the kids is these days, but it seemed surreal at the same time. Kinda like last year when RAGBRAI came close to town, but I wasn't on it. I managed to drink my fair share of Guinness, and Stacey had a drink with me in the basement after the girls went to bed. I got out of the house in the afternoon as well and went over to my Buddy Brad's house for an hour or so, but that was it. I'm gonna put in early for it next year with the Grandparents. They went out drinking this year, so we get to next year. That's the way it should go if you ask me. All in all, it was a nice weekend though. I learned that Ellen likes green beans, and Mara can climb things I couldn't have even imagined she'd try. She's gonna be a handful man, I can see that already. Let the good times roll.

I'm back

I've been ignoring this blog for a while. Not doing much else to speak of except working. Today was the day at work we've all been waiting for. We're going to get so busy now, we're gonna have trouble digging out of it. Oh well. I love the challenge. Gotta get through it somehow.
Ellen and Mara are fantastic. Ellen's sleeping great and is almost sitting up on her own. Still doesn't care for cereal though. That would be the nail in the coffin for her sleeping through the night.
It was beautiful outside yesterday. Mara and I went for a wagon ride around the block and played in the driveway. She LOVES being outside, which gets me excited about taking her camping and hiking, and someday, biking. I'll get the Burley trailer good to go soon.

Decisions

So I'm trying to decide which bike to add to my stable. I'm selling my touring bike to my Bro-in-Law, so I wanna replace it with something versatile. I'm leaning towards a Surly Creosscheck, but I'm not sure. The Kona Paddywagon looks nice in Dirtrag this month, plus it's hard to ignore the price of the Bianchi San Jose. What I like about the Surly is that it can be a singlespeed or geared. It has the capability to run fatter tires and fenders too. Plus, I have a Surly 1x1 already and I love it. Problem is, to build it how I like it would cost me 2x the cost of the other two. What a great bike to cruise the town on, race Cyclocross, and pull the burley with though.
