ISU vs. Kansas State weekend

Okay, got my camera back in action. About a month ago, we met my side of the family in Ames for a basketball game. ISU vs. Kansas State at Hilton Coliseum. My sister Sara's husband Bruce is a K State grad, so this had bragging rights implications. In a most cowardly fashion, Bruce decided he better bring along his fellow K-State grad, his best friend, ex-roomate, best man, and all around helluva good guy Mike along. (Just kidding about the cowardly part Bruce. Sorta.) We met at the hotel bar we were staying at around noon. We ate, drank, and were merry. We left for the game around 2pm. Watched the game which ended in a disappointing and hard fought loss for ISU. After the game, we headed back to the same bar we started off in and the following photographed mayhem began.

Mom and my sister Sara getting started in Mom and Dad's room

My brother Chad and I doing the same

After the game, starting to throw them back
Chad, pulling out the MJ tounge trying to stop the ass whooping we got at shuffleboard

Mom and her babies

Dad and Stacey, hmmm, another round anyone?

Mike and Bruce trying to figure out the bill.
Me and the Mrs.

Mike, Bruce, and Sara with the inflatable beer mug that I swear the waitress said we could take, but that the manager came looking for the next morning at 4am. Just so happens the manager / police came looking for at 4am. After the tab we had, I thought we deserved a souvenir. Sorry Mom.

Camera Down

I haven't posted in a while because my camera seems to have finally bit the dust. We've been a busy family. We went to Clear Lake last weekend. Had Friday off for Good Friday. Any Friday off is a Good Friday. The weather was crappy, so that kinda sucked but it was nice to hang out up there. The girls have gotten a lot of Grandpa and Grandma time the last couple weeks from both sides and it shows. The deprogramming has begun on my end, but it hasn't been fun. Mara still wants candy for breakfast.

Mara and I raked up the landmines in the yard from Josey on Monday night. It was nice to be outside with her. She wanted to jump in the leaf pile, and I had to explain to her what was in there and why.

Me: You can't jump in the leaves because Josey poops in the grass and her poop is in this pile of leaves.

Mara: Josey poops in the grass?

Me: Yes, dogs poop outside in the grass (or on Grandpa Schwartz's rug).

Mara: I want to poop in the grass.

Me: Go ahead (she has a diaper and pants on still)

And that's exactly what she proceeded to do.

No plans this weekend, which is a good thing. It's good to see family and all, but it's good to stay home too. Probably going to be labor camp again since I never got my bathroom floor finished and I'm racing to finish my garage walls to set myself up for some beer drinking garage time this spring and summer.

I'll probably get a new camera soon, but we'll see.

I got the blues

Got the bathroom all done except some minor stuff and the floor last week. Everything took longer than it should have of course.

I'll say this for sure, if you put wallpaper up in your house, and move out without stripping it off the wall yourself, well then you're just a jackass.

Going full throttle on the garage now to get maximum use this spring and summer. Can't wait to get my bike shop set up and maybe a little bar area with Direct TV for the fall football season. Gonna be sweet.

After these projects, I think I'm done for a while.

Got the mountain biking itch real, real bad. Doesn't look like I'll be scratching it for a while either.

Hollywood

Mara loves this dress all of a sudden. Wants to wear it all the time. The glasses come and go, but the dress is a hit.

Tonight has been totally lame. Stacey wasn't feeling well and went to bed right after the girls did. So I've been sitting here drinking shitty beer and bouncing back and forth between the internet and TV. I hope she's feeling better tomorrow because we're headed out of town to a Cyclones B-ball game in Ames. Staying in a hotel sans-children. They're going to Stacey's parent's house. We've seen a lot of family this week though. My sister Sara was here for the weekend last weekend. It was great having her around. I was really tired for some reason which kinda sucked. She spent some time with the kids and they loved it.

We're without daycare for the time being so we've had to wing it. Stacey and I both took time off earlier this week and then Gramma S and Aunt Jen swooped in to finish off the week. Thanks to you both. Mara LOVES her Aunts, Uncles, and Grandparents. She gets giddy just talking about them. Ellen doesn't seem to get it yet. Either that or she doesn't care.

The kids and Stacey will be gone all week whilst Stacey works in DSM and Minneapolis. The girls will be with Grandma and I'll be remodeling our main bathroom. I gotta get some riding in too. I'm in a funk I gotta get out of before I go insane. Sick of winter. I rode to work yesterday and just that felt awesome.

Riding in a warehouse full of beer

Some friends and I were lucky enough to ride in a warehouse this weekend. We built some boxes and a teeter and took them to Fleck's Distribution in CR.

Here's the link to see some video. I'm riding the white SS with green pants and black shirt.
